Switch....

Well after being very annoyed with the quality of ATT's service in my area, I decided to bite the bullet, pay the cancelation fee and switch to Sprint. So now I'm rocking the HTC Supersonic (AKA the EVO) and I'm loving it so far. Haven't decided if I want to root it or not, but it does give way for a lot of customization without requiring the root. (but accessing root information is always so fun ;) ) But anyways this is my homescreen so far. A lil Tony Montana for ya :)

Mashup

Hey everyone. Still haven't really had much time for themeing lately. But I've found a couple themes that I like by others. Here is Tooch.B for the lockscreen, iTunesHD for the music player theme, and Gladhander icons. All of which can be found over on Macthemes.

Outta Sight...

Finally got my new iPod Touch 4G. Still figuring out all the new filenames and locations and all that good stuff. Not really sure how much modding I'm going to be doing from now on. I've either been too busy or too tired to even think about it much to be completely honest. But I'll see where it goes from here.

Anyways here's what I have so far on the iPod.

Android Life

Hey everyone. Been kinda weird not having an iPhone and having an iPod touch that's still running 3.1.3. So I've been at a stalemate with themeing lately.

Just got the Samsung Captivate a couple weeks ago. By having the iPhone/iPod touch/ and iPad, I figured it was time to get something different with the phone.

So far, jailbreaking the Captivate (in the android world they call it "rooting") was the easy part. But the actual tweaking to me seems much more involved than anything I've ever done with the iPhone. Granted I am just getting starting.

After rooting my device and learning how to sideload, I'm diving into customizing a bit. It also seems that the chances of "bricking" the device or rendering it unusable is also more likely with Android as well. So I haven't done anything with custom roms yet. So here's a couple of screenies of what I've tried so far.

It's all still pretty new and I'm still learning. But that's half the fun :)

Let me know what you think

No IOS 4...

Hey everyone. I know its been a while but I've been crazy busy with work. Still I appreciate you coming and checking out my site. I've had a couple people inquiring about my themes working on IOS4. Well at this time I have no devices that have IOS4 (I don't even have an iPhone anymore, just the iPod touch.) So for right now, the themes won't be updated to work as I have no way of testing them. But once I get the new iPod touch and new OS I'll try my best to get everything updated for you guys.

First iPad tweaking

I got my iPad this week so I'm pretty stoked. Haven't really been able to do much with icons yet. Changed the carrier logo, wifi bars and the dock. The dock can't be themed through winterboard yet so you have to do it manually. Infinidock works (sort of). I have 8 icons in portrait mode...then 11 in landscape :)

Dbar Dragon, Dbar Streamline install

Well I've noticed that a lot of traffic that has lead to my site has been questions about installing dbar themes. Honestly probably the best tool for install information can be found over at the Xsellize Thread. It has all the info you would EVER need. But there a few specific things I can share about the mods I've done.
I'll do the best I can. :)

A few things you wil likely need for just about any Dbar theme:

-iBlank or Iconoclasm: Personally I use Iconoclasm because the possibilities are endless when it comes to creating layouts.

-Five Icon dock or Infiniboard: program to customize how many icons you can put in the dock
-Categories or Stacks: originally DBAR was designed to be a one page theme. So being able to put apps in folders or stack them up would be ideal. I personally use categoriesSB

-Status notifier: Basically this a program thats used to put alerts in your status bar (i.e. SMS, Mail, Calls). Generally most Dbar themes look pretty funny with badges. So you use Status notifier instead (this is why when you install certain mods, badges don't appear. The info.plist is edited so the badges are transparent along with the badge icon itself).

Okay so let's start with a blank canvas:
let's take Dbar Streamline for example:
http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/oo80/dragonc12/0c8c5de4.jpg http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/oo80/dragonc12/f7287ac2.jpg
You would arrange your icons first (I used Iconoclasm and the 5x5 setup to acheive this. Along with the five icon dock)
So once you download the theme and place it in your themes folder you want to check off "No docked icon labels", "no undocked icons labels" and "Dbar Streamline" and hang them all high in winterboard.
Now one of the first things you want to do is set your weather up in the theme. you need to follow this path in the theme:
Widgets>Configs>Weather-Config.js
It should look like this:

Now you just have to enter in your "City, State" on the line that says "var Locale"
Save the file, SSH it back onto your phone and then respring. Now your weather info should show up.
Now depending upon the font you use you may have some alignment issues. The font I use is called "Neutraface" and it is a paid font. Of course you can use any font you want though. Now for city and temperature aligment you need to follow this path:

Widgets>weather>Stylesheets
open the bottom(white).css file with notepad

go to this section:

#temp{ /* Weather Temperature Position */
position: absolute; top:349px; right: 0px; down: 0px; left: 77px; width: 320px; height: 461px;
font-family: Helvetica;
text-transform: uppercase;
font-variant: small-caps;
font-size: 23px;
font-weight: bold;
color: #FFFFFF;
text-shadow: 2px 2px 2px #000000;

edit the number in bold
#city{ /* Weather City Position */
position: absolute; top: 415px; right: 0px; down: 0px; left: 12px; width: 320px; height: 461px;
font-family: Helvetica;
font-weight: bold;
text-align: left;
font-variant: normal;
color: #FFFFFF;
text-shadow: 2px 2px 2px #000;
font-size: 18px;
text-transform: capitalize;
Edit the number in bold
to fix the time placement folllow open the widget.html file with notepad

find this section:

top: 344px; left: -40px; width: 150px; height: 461px;">

Edit the number in bold
You can apply the same principles to the Dbar Dragon (Speed) theme
http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/oo80/dragonc12/2856ddad.jpg
Some users have stated having alignment issues (most likely due to the font they are using). So you can use the above tips to fix issues you are having. (moving from top to bottom and left to right). Hope these little tips can be of some help!

Dbar Pink Out

Well this is my festive bright springtime theme I suppose! I did a set of pink spils icons. still ironing out all the little details. but the brightness and swirls of color help. i like the little figure stading in the middle of it all kinda taking it all in. kinda reminds me that everything is never as bad as it seems. you can always find beauty in something :)The iPod theme is from Monty's Adeline. And the overall concept is of course guided by Max Patrese DBar style

Install or Tutorial for themes

A few of you have asked about an "installation guide" or tutorial. Right now I'm really busy with work and everything so I haven't had time to really make one. But if you check out this thread here over at XSELLIZE, it should answer a lot of the questions you may have aboutt DBAR themes. then I'll post a few more specific CSS items as soon as I get a chance. So head on over!

Editing Calendar code

For anyone that has downloaded Dbar Speed or DBar Streamline, I did mess up on the calender coding. So it says that today Is the month of MAY instead of MARCH! :)

To fix that open the Widget.html and find this section:

function calendarDate ( )

{

var this_weekday_name_array = new Array("Su","Mo","Tu","We","Th","Fr","Sa")
var this_month_name_array = new Array("Jan","Feb","May","Apr","May","Jun","Jul","Aug","Sep","Oct","Nov"," Dec") //predefine month names
var this_date_timestamp = new Date()
var this_weekday = this_date_timestamp.getDay()
var this_month = this_date_timestamp.getMonth()
var this_date = this_date_timestamp.getDate()
var this_year = this_date_timestamp.getYear()

Just change "May" to "Mar", save SSH onto phone, and everything will be right in the world :) Sorry about that guys

Welcome Welcome

Hey everyone. Welcome to my blog. I'll be posting all my iPhone / iPod touch mods. And I'll post screenies on any interesting finds going on in the jailbreaking community. A lot of my mods are based on a theme called DBAR (credits to Max Patrese). Feel free to comment on my mods :)
